“The Bordeaux Of Lebanese Olive Oils”: Darmmess comes exclusively from Deir Mimas, South of Lebanon, a small village of unspoiled beauty and authenticity, coated with 130,000 majestic ancient olive trees, harking back to Biblical times. Blessed with a white soil naturally rich in clay, a temperate climate and an average altitude of 580 meters, Deir Mimas represents a unique favorable environment for the olive groves. 

 

“From Tree To Bottle in 24 Hours”: Our olive trees taken care of all year long, are grown pesticides and chemicals free. Among all available varieties, we only harvest the “Souri”, olive variety named after the city of Sour (Tyr), and classified one of the oldest varieties in the world.  Unlike common practices in Deir Mimas, we start our journey end of September of every year. This early harvest timing generates a low yield but is behind an unequaled quality of Extra Virgin Olive Oil. First cold extracted in a modern mill, Darmmess is filtered to guarantee a stable and high level of freshness.

 

 “High Phenolic, High Antioxidant”: Polyphenols are organic compounds by-products of plants synthesis. The two most important ones are Oleocanthal and Oleacein, and can be easily detected in Darmmess taste: they are behind the peppery effect on the back of the throat, and the bitterness on the tongue. “The European Union Health Claim Labelling Regulation 432–2012 states that olive oils with polyphenols of 250 mg/kg contribute to the protection of blood lipids from oxidative stress”.

At 294mg/kg, Darmmess is your natural strong antioxidant.
